Biography:

CamilloCarliniHan (Johan) Zuidweg incubates tech start-up companies, manages innovation projects, provides consultancy, writes books and speaks on technology. For the past 25 years he has been working with world class organizations including Vodafone, Royal Dutch KPN, Telefónica, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, the Open Mobile Alliance and the European Commission.

Han is a celebrity speaker who consistently rates among the top in conferences, workshops and technology events. He has held appointments as lecturer at Leiden University in The Netherlands and the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain where he received teaching distinctions in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. His publishing includes three popular books on next generation mobile networks and numerous scientic articles on various subjects. He holds more than ten U.S. and international patents in the area of Internet identity management and content filtering.

Over the past two decades Han has been at the forefront of critical technological evolutions. In the first half of the 1990s he spearheaded the European 3G system specification as one of the four permanent members of the RACE Mobile Systems Group in Paris. These specifications still serve as the foundations for today’s 3G network. In the second half of the 1990s he was an architect of the value added services revolution in telecommunications, helping operators and vendors apply state of the art distributed object oriented information technology in their networks and applications.

More recently he has been incubating Internet start-up companies and leading the development of mobile applications in the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the GSM Association.
